Residence Food: To Eat or Not To Eat
Friday, February 11, 2011 at 4:03PM What’s better than overpriced food? What’s better is overpriced food that really isn’t all that good. Oh yeah, that’s right, welcome to the world of cafeteria food. In the next few minutes you are going to learn all about the strange, bazaar, and questionable and somewhat edible food items that can be purchased for human consumption. So before I scare you away with all this talk I will remind you that nothing is ever really as bad as it seems at first glance.
Now where to start, how about with space potatoes and I bet the question you’re asking yourself right now is what in the world space potatoes are. Well I’m going to paint the pretty picture of powder coming out of a box and being mixed with water to make whipped potatoes, sounds delicious doesn’t it? It’s so good that I never eat potatoes at residence anymore. Just on a side note as well, the people who work behind the counter don’t exactly appreciate it when you openly call them space potatoes.
So while were going to axe the potatoes how about we try having some pizza, or as one of my friends would call it, cardboard painted to look like pizza. I wonder if that impression would have anything to do with the fact that it’s frozen and not freshly made like the rest of the school. And really since pizza isn’t enough to fill anyone up may I suggest a salad with spots of brown or alien veggies because really you can’t always know exactly what you’re eating.
And just to end all this on a high note I’m going to tell you how there really is a positive to the mediocre food the café normally serves. Special dinner nights are one of the best things that could possibly happen to a residence student. Want to know why? It’s because one of the chefs comes over from the school to cook a good meal for residence. Finally see why this is a blessing in disguise? I do. The dinners range from Chinese to beef or pork and are significantly better in quality.
All in all I’m very happy that there’s a Loblaw’s around the corner and a kitchen down the hallway so that it is possible to cook all of your own food. This is probably my favourite part of living in my residence because I don’t even half to leave my room to eat if I don’t want to.

I've never lived in residence and have always wondered about the kind of food that gets served there. Looks like I didn't miss anything!
Just a few things to watch out for, like word confusion: "bazaar" is a kind of marketplace. The word you're looking for is "bizarre." Instead of "half," use "have."
Sentences that ask questions require question marks.
"Loblaws," not "Loblaw's."
Also, avoid shifts in person and voice.
