Mary Delong

Mary is a first-year student in Professional Writing at Algonquin College. For most of her life, she has lived in a small town near Toronto. Lately, she has made Ottawa her new home.

An avid chocolate-lover, she enjoys ruining her eyes with books, spending time with her bizarre gaggle of friends, and watching a good tear-jerker. Although she has a long way to go, Mary hopes to write something that will make a difference in the world. (And put a few coins in her pocket!)

Organically Fair

Many people today are not aware that chocolate is usually produced under poor labour conditions. The fact is that it costs a lot to produce a small amount of cocoa, and the selling price doesn’t always cover the price of production. As a result, employees are exploited and given inadequate wages. This is where Fair Trade steps in.
